An update has emerged on former WWE Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, amid her wrestling hiatus.

Ripley hasn’t wrestled since defending her Women’s World Title against Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40 in April.
She relinquished her gold on the April 15 edition of Raw, after suffering a shoulder injury the week prior.
With Liv Morgan now holding the Women’s World Championship, there has been a lot of speculation about Ripley making her return.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ripley is currently rehabbing her shoulder, hopeful that she won’t have to have surgery.

Noting that she’s not currently scheduled for SummerSlam, but appearances could be possible if her injury recovery is quick, Meltzer wrote:
Rhea Ripley is rehabbing her shoulder rather than having surgery. Right now she’s not scheduled back for SummerSlam but we were also told if she heals up faster than expected or if the storyline changes to where they need her for an appearance it’s still possible.
If rehab can’t mend the shoulder enough, she could need surgery.

Becky Lynch initially won the vacant Women’s World Championship, which she dropped to Liv Morgan at the King & Queen of the Ring premium live event on May 25.
Morgan is currently on her Revenge Tour, attempting to take everything from Rhea Ripley following the duo’s previous rivalry.
