A current WWE star has teased taking over a still-active legend’s former gimmick in an interview that occurred after the show.

Carmelo Hayes has made an interesting statement after pinning Randy Orton on WWE SmackDown that is sure to raise eyebrows.
On the SmackDown LowDown, Carmelo Hayes said:

“Yeah I did pin Randy Orton, but come on Kayla, what did you expect? I’m him.
“He is a 14-time world champ, legend killer… maybe I should start calling myself the legend killer.”

On SmackDown, Hayes did in fact capture a pinfall victory over Randy Orton, although it did come with some help from the Bloodline.
In the match to determine which of the three would move on to the Money in the Bank ladder match, Carmelo Hayes was able to beat Randy Orton and Tama Tonga after a distraction at ringside saw Kevin Owens fighting with the Bloodline.
Hayes was able to capitalize on Orton being distracted, and rolled him up to get the win.
