Former WWE star Mandy Rose has addressed comparisons between herself and Maxxine Dupri’s WWE pairing with Otis.

In early 2020, Mandy Rose was involved in a memorable romance storyline with Otis that led to the duo having their first on-screen kiss at the empty-arena WWE WrestleMania 36.
In recent months, Otis has been involved in another memorable story with Maxxine Dupri as part of the Alpha Academy stable with Chad Gable and Akira Tozawa.
On the June 17 edition of Monday Night Raw, Otis finally pushed and walked out on Gable after weeks of verbal and physical abuse. This followed Otis carrying Maxxine out when she was knocked down during Gable’s match with Sami Zayn at Clash At The Castle.

Speaking on her Power Alphas podcast, Mandy Rose addressed the similarities between her storyline and Maxxine Dupri’s with Otis. She said:
“At Clash at the Castle, Otis picked up Maxxine like he picked up me. Obviously that’s been done before, but you know it’s getting a lot of comparisons.”

After calling her storyline with Otis one of the greatest of all time, Rose noted that her wish is that the payoff would have happened at a typical WrestleMania. She said:
“That big kiss that happened in the performance center, we wished that was in front of thousands of people because that crowd would have erupted,”

On the current Alpha Academy storyline with Otis and Maxxine Dupri, Rose said:
“I understand what they’re doing with the Maxxine thing right now,”
“I think it’s actually a really entertaining group, I think Chad Gable’s really come a long way. He’s actually a really good heel.”

Following Alpha Academy walking away from him, Chad Gable was found unconscious during the WWE Raw debut of The Wyatt Sicks faction.
However, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce announced that Gable has been medically cleared to compete in his Money In The Bank qualifying match on the June 24 edition of WWE Raw.
