Having been away from the ring since WWE Backlash in France, Asuka has provided a new update on her recovery from injury.

At the May 4 PLE, Asuka and Kairi Sane lost the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships to Bianca Belair & Jade Cargill.
On June 5, 2024, Asuka confirmed that she had undergone knee surgery, sharing a photo sporting a brace.
She has also recently revealed that the surgery has been a success and that she is on painkillers.
In a new update, Asuka has shared a video of her progress after knee surgery which can be seen below this news story.

In the video, we follow Asuka as she tell us that she had knee surgery the other day.
We then get to see Asuka walking with an aid along with the caption that reads:
“A little bit about what happened after that.”

The video then shows Asuka travelling by train and in a wheelchair, along with scenes of her removing the knee brace and performing a range of exercises.
The exercises focus on rehabbing her knee and also maintain her upper body strength and mobility.

The description from the YouTube video, translated from Japanese by Google Translate, reads:
“I had knee surgery the other day. The surgery was a great success, and my recovery is going well.
“Rehabilitation will continue until recovery.”
The short video ends with a simple message of “see you”.

At the time of writing, there is no timetable for Asuka’s return to in-ring competition.
JJA Sport Studio wishes Asuka well on her rehabilitation journey.
