With Jacob Fatu joining WWE and siding with the Bloodline, scrapped plans for his introduction have been revealed.
The former MLW star made his WWE debut on the June 21 episode of SmackDown, aligning with Solo Sikoa’s iteration of the Bloodline.
Previously, WWE had filed a trademark application for the name Caesar Sikoa, with speculation that this would be Fatu’s ring name.
The Caesar Sikoa plans have now, seemingly, been scrapped according to the current Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
According to Dave Meltzer, plans for Fatu as Caesar Sikoa were scrapped, although there’s a chance it could pop up later down the line, with it being stated:
“Caesar Sikoa was the first idea for Fatu’s name, but they made the call to keep his Jacob Fatu name, which is surprising since it’s his real name.
“…They do own the Caesar Sikoa name and it could be used by somebody else going forward, but it was trademarked last week for him.”
WWE has since filed a trademark application for the term “Samoan Werewolf“, the nickname that Fatu used on the independent circuit.
Following Fatu’s WWE SmackDown debut, Triple H described the Samoan Werewolf as ‘a game changer.‘
Fatu’s debut saw him emerge from under the ring in a mask, with a behind-the-scenes video emerging online showing how it was all put together.
