There were plans for a Punjabi Prison Match that would have featured Roman Reigns that would have taken place at a WWE PLE.

Jinder Mahal made the claim during a recent appearance on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, revealing the match would have taken place at WWE Extreme Rules.
Likely referring to the 2018 run of matches that Mahal had with Reigns, the wrestler now known as Raj Dhesi, stated:

“I was supposed to possibly have one with Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules, I think we just had a regular straight-up match. And it was in Chicago too.
“There was talk of the Punjabi Prison match coming back – me and Roman in the Punjabi Prison match.”

Reigns would have a singles match at WWE Money in the Bank in June 2018 where he would defeat Mahal.
Jinder Mahal was one of a number of WWE stars released on April 19, 2024, marking the end of his second run with the company.

During his time in WWE, Mahal has held the WWE Championship, WWE United States Championship and is a former WWE 24/7 Champion.
He has since returned to the independent scene, adopting the name Raj Dhesi which previously used early in his wrestling career.
