Ahead of WWE SummerSlam 2024, The Judgment Day’s Rhea Ripley has revealed what she always wanted from Dominik Mysterio.
In September 2022, Dominik Mysterio turned on his father Rey Mysterio and aligned with Rhea Ripley, Damian Priest and Finn Balor in The Judgment Day. Since then, “Dirty Dom” and Ripley have been an inseparable duo.
Following WrestleMania 40, Liv Morgan attacked and injured Ripley, causing her to be out of action for several months. This led to Morgan trying to seduce Mysterio over to her side, but the return of Rhea in July stopped her advances from working completely.
On the July 22 edition of Monday Night Raw, “Dirty Dom” verbally embarrassed Morgan, flat-out telling her that he hates her.
In a new interview with Chris Van Vliet ahead of WWE SummerSlam 2024, Rhea Ripley discussed Dominik Mysterio’s aggressive outburst against Liv Morgan. She said:
“He’s doing good. I feel like he’s got this burst of confidence after finally standing up for himself, which I love. That’s all I’ve ever wanted from Dom.”
“I’ve wanted him to see his potential and to stand up for himself in situations that he doesn’t want to be in.”
“That’s the whole reason why he turned on Rey. He was in his shadow. So he finally had enough and was like, ‘Screw it. I want to be my own man.’ So he became his own man.”
On Liv’s attempt to tempt Dominik Mysterio away from her, Rhea said:
“I think it was the same with Liv as well. She was love-bombing him, and he was so uncomfortable.”
“He didn’t know how to tell her to stop in a way that wasn’t the nice Dominik way because he’s not an angry man.”
“He’s very calm, collected, and respectful when you get to know him. So he was trying to do it the respectful way. But then he finally had enough, and I mean, you could tell it. I love that.”
Rhea Ripley will challenge Liv Morgan for the WWE Women’s World Championship this Saturday, August 3 at WWE SummerSlam.
