Big E has revealed his hopeful timeline to be cleared for a WWE return, over two years since suffering a broken neck.

The possibility of a Big E WWE in-ring return is something many fans continue to hold out hope for, with is being almost two and a half years since the former WWE Champion last competed.
Thankfully we get to see Big E on our WWE screens on a regular basis through his role as a panelist on WWE Premium Live Events, and most importantly of all, Big E seems to be in a good place both mentally and physically following the serious injury.
In a recent interview with Carlo Perruzza, E provided an update on a potential in-ring return and revealed what his hopeful timeline is for a return, if it is to happen.

E said:
“We’ll see (if I could ever wrestle again). Right now, my neck is just not ossifying. It’s not turning into new bone quite yet. It is kind of healing fibrously. So it’s all connected and it’s no fear that if I were pushed too hard or if I were bumped, anything would happen. None of that.
“But I’m not really in a position right now to be cleared, medically, because of the nature of what we do is very physical and taking bumps requires you to have a rock-solid neck. So, we’ll see what the future holds.
“Mind you, there’s kind of a race against the clock. I’m 38. I’m no spring chicken anymore so, if I were to be cleared, hopefully it would happen within the next year or so. But more than anything, I’m focusing on what I do have in life and I have a great life, I have a lot of things I’m able to do right now.

“I went down to Cancun a couple of months ago for stem cells and we’ll see how that goes. Went to a great spot called RejuvStem in Cancun. They also have an office I believe in Guadalajara and they’re looking to expand.
“They were great to me, and yeah, I’m really having a great time on these Countdown shows. We’re doing pre-shows and post-shows for all the PLEs. I’m headed to Berlin very soon but, it’s been fun.

I’ve really enjoyed this new role, this current role and if an opportunity in the ring opens up, then we’ll address that but, for right now, my focus is on the broadcasting side of things.”
After continuing as a tag team in the years since Big E suffered his injury, The New Day have recently found themselves a new partner in the form of Odyssey Jones.
While Xavier Woods may not be totally on board with Jones’ arrival, fans were eager to find out what Big E’s thoughts were on his involvement with his stablemates.
