WWE star confirmed for match in another company

WWE has been more open than ever to allow their contracted talent to work for other promotions in 2024. From AJ Styles performing in Pro Wrestling NOAH to the WWE NXT and TNA Wrestling working relationship, the company has seen various crossovers and been more giving to other promotions.
On September 10, Jimmy Townsend made a challenge to former WWE Tag Team Champion Grayson Waller for a match at PWA’s Grand Final at the Colosseum event on October 12.

Then on September 16, PWA posted a video on social media to announce that Waller will face Townsend at their event on that date. The caption reads:

In the video for the announcement, Grayson Waller can be seen coming out of one of his cars and cuts a promo to accept the challenge. He said:
“But I can’t be mad at you, can I Jimmy? This is what I taught you. Mind games. Saying whatever you got to say to get what you want. And I know what you want. You could have cashed in the ‘Key To The Card’ on any of the PWA champions. You could’ve actually got in Colosseum for once.
“But what’s more valuable than all those things combined? ‘The Grayson Waller Rub.’ But there’s a certain level of disrespect, a line I think you crossed when you remember who I am to you, young boy. I was there your first training session. I remember like it was just yesterday, lad. Your hot mom picking you up afterwards. Very memorable.
“But I saw something in you. I saw your drive. I saw your passion. I saw a little bit of me in you. So I took you under my wing. I took you all around Sydney, taught you how to pay your dues, how to do this properly. I taught you how to take souls and never take no for an answer.

“And when you wanted to better yourself and come to America and train. Whose house did you stay at? Whose food did you eat? Elimination Chamber, biggest show in Australian wrestling history. Who got you backstage? Who got you to be an extra so you could see your dream right in front you to help you attain it.
“And all you could do is mark out because you saw Logan Paul over there. You think I’m scared of you, Jimmy? Since I left PWA, week after week, I’ve gone toe to toe with the best. And I’ve never taken a step back. World Champions, Hall of Famers, Legends, it doesn’t matter.
“I’m not scared of you, Jimmy. I’m scared of what I will do to you. But then I thought about it. One of the best of all time. Once asked me to step into the deep end with him to see if I could swim and Jimmy, maybe it’s time to find out if you can swim.
“Be careful what you ask for. Night one. Colosseum. My city, my house. My show. Jimmy Townsend versus Grayson Waller is on. You’re welcome for the rub.”

Grayson Waller last wrestled in a tag team loss with his A Town Down Under partner Austin Theory to Kevin Owens and Randy Orton on the September 13 Season Premiere edition of SmackDown.
