The real reason why the GUNTHER vs Sami Zayn WWE World Heavyweight Championship match is taking place on Raw rather than Bad Blood has been revealed.

With Sami Zayn recently targeting GUNTHER, it was heavily speculated that the duo would face off in a championship match at Saturday’s (October 5) Bad Blood premium live event.
While the title match was eventually announced, it was confirmed for the October 7 Raw episode, following Bad Blood.
Per Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter,  WWE wanted to give a boost to Raw, and didn’t feel like the premium live event needed the same boost.

Meltzer wrote:
Bad Blood will remain in the five-match and three hour format. The Gunther vs. Sami Zayn world title match will be on the 10/7 Raw show rather than here.
When we asked why, we were told that this show didn’t need that match so they could use it to boost Raw.
And based on ticket sales and secondary market demand, that would be correct. They don’t need that match on this show.

Zayn previously defeated GUNTHER to win the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40.
