WWE NXT North American Champion Oba Femi has just hit a historic milestone in his championship reign.
Oba Femi has been a dominant North American Champion, defeating many notable names while defending the title.
Femi has been champion since the January 9 NXT episode, during which he defeated former champion Dragon Lee after cashing in his NXT Breakout Tournament winner’s contract.
The Nigerian star has now reached 269 days as NXT North American Champion. This means he has the joint longest reign with this title, alongside Wes Lee’s 269 day reign from October 2022 to July 2023.
As Femi doesn’t have another title match scheduled for WWE TV, he’s expected to break this record and become the single longest reigning NXT North American Champion tomorrow.
Interestingly, Femi will only have to hold the gold for a few more days to break the longest combined reigns record, which is currently held by Carmelo Hayes, who was North American Champion for 272 recognised days across two reigns.
Femi last defended the gold on the September 10 NXT episode, against TNA’s Hammerstone.
