Current WWE World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER says WWE CCO Triple H has always supported him.
GUNTHER signed with WWE in 2019 and immediately became a top star for the NXT UK brand where he won the NXT UK Championship just three months into his run. From there, he held that title for a record 870 days and moved onto the NXT brand afterwards.
“The Ring General” then moved up to the WWE main roster where he held the Intercontinental Championship for a record 666 days.
After dropping the title at WrestleMania 40, GUNTHER won the King of the Ring and then won the World Heavyweight Title at SummerSlam.
Speaking with Alistair McGeorge of Metro, GUNTHER discussed his run under Triple H. On Triple H always supporting him, he said:
“He always supported me and saw something in me. In general, I think he is somebody that is very disciplined when it comes to his long-term goals with certain people and sticking to them.”
“I don’t know if I would be here without ever being more or less connected with Triple H in that sense.”
“All I can do is I can do me. I can do that better than anybody else. In my case, it’s, ‘Take it or leave it,'”
GUNTHER is scheduled to face Sami Zayn for the World Heavyweight Title this Monday, October 7 on WWE Raw.
The real reason why GUNTHER vs. Sami Zayn is not on the WWE Bad Blood card has been revealed, which you can read here.
