At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 30, Dr Britt Baker DMD made her return, interrupting Mercedes Mone’s victory.
The pair didn’t exchange words, with the returning star exchanging looks with Mone for a couple of minutes before returning to the back.
Baker has been absent from AEW television since September 2023, with Tony Khan confirming she was absent due to injury.
Her return came after Mone retained the AEW TBS Championship and defeated Stephanie Vaquer for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship.
Mone has since gone on to comment about the interruption during the post-show media scrum, saying:
“I know a certain B**CH wanted to come out and try to steal my spotlight tonight. But that’s not gonna happen because I’m gonna party all night long and show her that I am Mercedes Mone for a reason, and there is a price to pay when you interrupt me.”
The dual-champion would comment that Baker was the first-ever woman to sign with AEW but that she is the ‘biggest free agent’ to sign with the company, before saying:
“So this Wednesday at Dynamite, to any woman that wants to come out here and steal my spotlight, it’s on.”
And, it looks like, on AEW Dynamite, Mone could get her wish with Baker confirmed to be attending by Tony Khan, who tweeted:
