MJF has reflected on earning respect from the fans and fellow wrestlers.
Maxwell Jacob Friedman was once widely regarded as one of the most despicable and irredeemable heels in wrestling.
However, thanks to his friendship with Adam Cole, MJF has become the most charismatic babyface in All Elite Wrestling.
Fans continue to embrace this new version of “The Devil” and with each passing week, he continue to evolve as a person. Most recently, Friedman admitted that Max Caster earned his respect and that he was starting to like The Acclaimed.
On November 5, MJF took to social media to post a photo of himself hugging Kenny Omega and to talk about earning respect from everyone. He wrote:
In this sport respect isn’t given.

It’s earned.
Every time I step into the ring I used to only do it for myself cuz I figured nobody gave a shit if I was alive or dead.
Now when I walk through that curtain I walk out with everyone who believes in me.

Following his win over Kenny Omega on the October 28 edition of AEW Collision, MJF showed respect and shook hands with his opponent.
After the show went off the air, Max candidly spoke about how working with guys like Omega is making him reassess the bidding war of 2024.
MJF is set to defend the AEW World Championship against Daniel Garcia on the November 8 episode of AEW Dynamite. If he wins, he will go on to defend against Jay White at AEW Full Gear on November 18.
