Former ECW Champion and WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam has been making sporadic appearances for All Elite Wrestling over the past few months.

RVD has competed in a number of tag team matches alongside HOOK, the son of fellow ECW alumni Taz.
RVD is not the only ECW legend to have appeared on AEW television this year, as Sabu made an appearance on Dynamite back in May, and served as the special enforcer for Chris Jericho and Adam Cole’s match at Double or Nothing.
Sabu spoke to Title Match Wrestling, where he discussed his time in AEW, and a pitch he made to retire in the company in a match with HOOK.

When discussing RVD’s appearance in the company, Sabu said:
“I thought it was awesome. I thought it was awesome. Would have been better if he came out with me. He came out, and he had a surprise, and it ended with all of us. I wanted him to win the FTW belt, give it to me, and then in my final match, I lose it back to HOOK. I didn’t say it to nobody, that’s just my thought.
“I like HOOK, he’s a good guy, a good kid, very respectful. Needs to gain some weight, of course, and experience, but I think he has a good future. It would be my pleasure to help him.”
