A big clue has potentially emerged on AEW star Andrade El Idolo’s next move, with the Mexican star set to return to a promotion after years away.

Andrade El Idolo appeared in a vignette during CMLL’s Arena Mexico show on Friday (December 8).
It was revealed that Andrade will return to the promotion next Friday on December 15.
The former ‘La Sombra’ previously made a name for himself in CMLL after joining the promotion in 2007.
He hasn’t wrestled for CMLL since losing to RUSH at the November 15 Super Viernes show, ahead of Andrade signing with WWE later that month.

During his AEW stint, Andrade has wrestled for Lucha Libre AAA, CMLL’s rival promotion who had a partnership with AEW.
AEW and CMLL now have a working relationship, with Tony Khan confirming that he had talks with the Mexican company in October.
It has been heavily speculated that Andrade El Idolo is visiting CMLL ahead of a potential WWE move.

Previous reports indicated that Andrade wanted to return to CMLL soon in case he ends up moving back to WWE, where he wouldn’t be able to wrestle for other promotions like he can while he’s under contract to AEW.
Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Andrade El Idolo’s AEW contract is up relatively soon, and he hasn’t yet signed a new deal with AEW.
Andrade’s latest match against Bryan Danielson, which was taped this past Tuesday, will air on Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision.
