Former AEW World Champion Chris Jericho has revealed the most important thing the company has been doing, addressing criticisms about the promotion.

Chris Jericho has wrestled for AEW since the company was founded, with Jericho being one of the first stars announced to have signed with the promotion back in 2019.
Speaking with WFAA, Jericho said that AEW has been building new stars, and that this has been the most important task for the company.

Responding to criticisms about the company, Jericho said:
“People’s opinions are opinions, especially on social media when everybody’s gonna say what they think, you know, with no consequences and mostly a lot of negativity. I think our shows have been.
“I think the matches have been great, and we have done a great job of kind of balancing the storylines along with these amazing matches. But the most important thing that we have been doing is building stars.
“And like I said, I mean, I’m sure people that are on the Dallas Cowboys or people that are making movies or, if you are in a band, it is like being a KISS fan. KISS fans hate everything, but they still buy everything.

“And I find that a lot of wrestling fans are like that too. They just hate everything. I mean, if you listen to public opinion online, I should be shot and killed and never show my face on wrestling again because I’m the, you know, the worst possible thing that could ever happen to the business is me still being in existence.
“Either you believe that or you don’t and I don’t, so I don’t think the majority of people do either, but there’s still people that are gonna say that.
“So it’s your opinion, you know, I, I never worry about people that don’t like what we do because you can’t convince them, they just don’t like it and that’s fine. It’s your opinion. I worry about the people that do like our show and worry about making new fans of our show.”

Le Champion has a big match lined up for the Worlds End pay-per-view, with Jericho set to team with Kenny Omega to challenge for Big Bill and Ricky Starks’ AEW World Title.
An absent star is hoping he’s able to return at this event, which you can read more about right here
