Despite having their match cancelled at AEW Worlds End, the back and forth between Swerve Strickland Keith Lee hasn’t stopped.
After AEW Worlds End saw Swerve Strickland appear to ‘injure’ Dustin Rhodes in their relatively short albeit violent match, he had a message for his intended opponent.
In a late change made to the card several hours before showtime, Keith Lee was pulled from action, notably not ‘medically cleared’ to compete and instead, Rhodes stepped in.
In the backstage clip, Swerve says that he won’t continue to have his ‘time wasted’ waiting for a match against Keith Lee.
Mocking Lee’s injury and noting that he didn’t get on his flight despite Swerve telling him to simply fight him in Long Island.
While Swerve would go on to declare that he was chasing the AEW World Championship, his words did not go unnoticed.
In fact, Keith Lee took to Twitter to respond, being sure to note that he was there and was pulled by ‘Doc’.
With Lee writing on Twitter in response to the clip being posted by AEW:
1 leg... 2 legs ... irrelevant. Ask Cage. I was there. You saw me. Just because Doc pulled me does not make you safe.

You may be chosen.... but I'm real. Wherever the next meeting happens, I swear to God you will regret every syllable.
... That's a promise little homie. https://t.co/XilDFsFlpW
While Swerve Strickland seems to consider his feud with Keith Lee done, the same doesn’t seem to be true for Lee.
Swerve Strickland may have a path that leads directly through Samoa Joe if he hopes to become AEW World Champion in 2024.
Samoa Joe was able to beat MJF in the main event of AEW Worlds End to capture the AEW World Championship.
