AEW and Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) are in an exclusive media rights negotiation window that is coming to a close soon.
It was recently reported that the ongoing exclusivity period is “coming up soon” with Dave Meltzer correcting the belief that Tony Khan was “disappointed” by the negotiations.
Chris Jericho has recently opened up about what he’d like to see from successful negotiations.
During an appearance on TMZ Sports, the FTW Champion laid out his vision to build on the success of AEW, saying:
“What I’d like to see, and we’re getting down to the wire, is to get the deal that I know we’ve earned with the demos that we have.
“Being number one on cable or number one behind NBA and NHL which is on all of cable, and to secure the deal that I think we have earned, and then to really see where we can take it.”
Jericho would also share his belief that AEW is at a point where it should be able to explore more international locations for its events.
At present, AEW has run shows in the United States and Canada, with England being the home of All In which returns to London on August 25, 2024.
During the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Tony Khan praised the management of WBD, particularly CEO David Zaslav.
Khan has also revealed his thoughts on growing AEW Dynamite to a three-hour show having run three-hour TV blocks with Rampage and Collision.
