Ahead of his next title defence, current AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland has been confirmed for a “rare” independent wrestling return.

Since winning the AEW World Championship at Dynasty, Swerve Strickland has been riding high as the face of All Elite Wrestling.
Despite his responsibilities for his home promotion, Strickland has now been confirmed for a “rare” and big indy return.

On June 19, Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp revealed that Swerve Strickland will make his return to the indies when he faces Amazing Red at House of Glory’s High Intensity event on July 26.
Strickland last appeared in HOG Wrestling in December 2023 when he defeated TNA Wrestling star Speedball Mike Bailey.

Before his return to the independent scene, Swerve will defend the AEW World Championship against AEW International Champion Will Ospreay on Sunday, June 30 at Forbidden Door.
