There has been an update on a former WWE star’s departure from All Elite Wrestling after they announced their run had come to an end.
Earlier today, CJ Perry (former WWE star Lana) spoke to USA Today, where she revealed that her time in AEW has ‘come to an end’.
Perry made her debut for the company back at AEW All Out last September, but hadn’t appeared since the AEW World’s End pay-per-view in December, where she aligned with Miro, helping him defeat Andrade El Idolo in what was Andrade’s final match in AEW.
On her departure, Perry noted that she wasn’t done in the wrestling industry, saying:
“I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible.
“I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”
In an update from Fightful Select, AEW has confirmed that Perry was quietly a part of the AEW releases that took place on April 1.
Perry originally came into the company on a per-appearance deal, but she did sign a contract along the way.
