CM Punk has cost Drew McIntyre the WWE World Heavyweight Championship again, this time at WWE Clash at the Castle 2024.

The main event of WWE Clash at the Castle 2024 featured Scotland’s own Drew McIntyre trying to recapture the WWE Heavyweight Championship.
In a frightening moment, when going over the top rope Priest got tied up in the top rope and was hanging upside with his ankle trapped.
While Drew would eventually be able to free him, noting that he can’t win the title that way, Priest would go on to limp throughout the duration of the match.
While he continued the match and still managed to put on an impressive showing, it seemed clear that Priest was in bad shape.

In the final third of the match, McIntyre followed Priest out of the ring and delivered a Claymore through the barricade.
Dragging Damian Priest back into the ring, he signaled the crowd that he was going for a Claymore but instead he was intercepted by Priest who countered into a South of Heaven Chokeslam.
However McIntyre was still able to kick out as the match continued with the crowd chanting ‘This is awesome!’

In the end, the referee was knocked down and out before Drew McIntyre hit a Claymore on Damian Priest.
Fans were excited when a new referee seemingly ran out but after counting to only two, the referee’s identity was revealed to be none other than CM Punk.
When Drew McIntyre realized and grasped for Punk’s neck, it was self defense or dastardly act, depending on your perspective.

CM Punk would deliver a low blow to McIntyre before leaving the ring with Priest coming to and able to finish off McIntyre just as original referee Eddie Orengo made it back into the ring for the three-count.
The win marks the second time a home country favorite failed to capture gold tonight with Piper Niven also losing her title match against Bayley.
