An update has emerged on Charlotte Flair, following the announcement that she’s expected to be out of action for nine months.
As previously covered, there was some concern surrounding Flair following her bout against Asuka on the December 8 edition of SmackDown, with Flair getting her leg caught on the top rope during the bout and was seen limping afterwards.
WWE has now officially announced Flair’s injury will keep her on the shelf for nine months, meaning that she’ll be out for the rest of 2023, and a big portion of 2024.
Per PWInsider, Flair is set to undergo surgery within the next few weeks. Charlotte has her surgery scheduled around the holidays, which is why it hasn’t happened yet.
The report noted that, per a one source, Flair’s injury is ‘likely worse than’ just a torn ACL, with it indicated that she had suffered additional knee injuries.
Rumors about a torn ACL had been circulating among talents ahead of Raw on Monday (December 11).
Dave Meltzer has now reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Flair suffered tears to her ACL, MCL and meniscus.
We will continue to provide updates on Flair’s status as they become available.
We wish Charlotte Flair a safe, full and complete recovery.
