Gunther’s reign as WWE Intercontinental Champion is close to hitting 600 days and he’s just reached a new milestone.
Having held the championship since June 10, 2022, Gunther continues to be the longest-reigning holder of the championship in a single run.
As noted by WWE Stats on Twitter, he has reached a milestone not seen since Mr Perfect’s reign of the 90s.
In their tweet on the subject, WWE Stats revealed that:
Tonight on #WWERaw, @Gunther_AUT became the first Superstar since Mr. Perfect (in 1990-1991) to retain the @WWE Intercontinental Championship against FIFTEEN different opponents during a single #ICTitle reign.

Kingston has been a four-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and held the championship for a combined 272 days.
With Gunther having held the championship for 598 days in a single run, he is closing on Pedro Morales combined 617 days across his two reigns.
