A WWE Hall of Famer has confirmed that they are negotiating a new deal with the company following Vince McMahon’s departure.
Last month, WWE Hall of Famer Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura revealed that he had once again been ‘in talks’ with WWE following Vince McMahon’s departure from the promotion.
Jesse spoke to Frank Morano on his podcast recently, where he confirmed that he is currently negotiating a new contract with the company.
He said:
“I am back negotiating with them. We’re in talks right now. I have contracts with my attorney right now with the WWE.”
When discussing the deal, Ventura noted that they’re working on a Legends deal, and admitted that he wasn’t going to end up getting back on the microphone as he isn’t familiar with the current roster.
He said:
“We don’t know right now fully. They want to bring me back under their Legends [deal]. If you go back to WrestleMania 1, there aren’t too many of us alive anymore. It is true. Look, Roddy’s gone, Orndorff’s gone, Andre’s gone, John Studd’s gone. … Junkyard Dog’s gone. You have more gone. It goes on and on.
“I’m getting older. I’m in my 70s now. I just want to open up the door at the end of the wrestling career and see what’s still left there. And it ain’t like I’m going to go back on the mic because, I’ll be honest with you, I don’t even know who wrestles there anymore.”
Fellow WWE Hall of Famer and former commentator Jerry Lawler revealed that the company recently let his broadcaster deal expire, though he remains under a legends contract with the company.
