The WWE backstage reaction to Drew McIntyre posting a photo with AEW star Jack Perry aimed at CM Punk has been revealed.
Earlier today, McIntyre posted and then deleted a photo with Perry, which had the caption:
It’s a real photo, cry us a river.
Not long after it was posted, McIntyre took the photo down without an explanation, which has led to fans coming up with their own theories as to why he deleted it.
In an update on the reaction within WWE, WRKD Wrestling reports:
While Drew McIntyre deleted his photo with Jack Perry, there is zero concern of any backstage heat.

McIntyre and CM Punk are working closely to craft their feud and all references to past AEW or backstage issues have been given the green light by Punk ahead of time. pic.twitter.com/drvMSYE1XZ
McIntyre also mentioned AEW star Colt Cabana in a tweet a few days ago, although that one wasn’t deleted.
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are set for a match at WWE SummerSlam on August 3, with Seth Rollins as the referee.
It’ll be Punk’s first match since suffering an injury after taking a McIntyre DDT during the Royal Rumble match in January.
