Following her official debut with the company, a new report has revealed future WWE plans for Giulia after NXT No Mercy.
At NXT No Mercy, Roxanne Perez defeated Jaida Parker to retain the NXT Women’s Championship.
Post match, former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Giulia made her debut in the company by confronting Perez.
Fightful Select provided an update on Giulia’s presentation following her debut, noting that while her previous theme music “Gloria” was never strongly considered and a new theme was produced specifically for her NXT debut.
Regarding her creative, WWE has big plans for a Giulia vs. Roxanne Perez matchup dating all the way back to NXT Stand & Deliver in April where Giulia was shown in the front row prior to Perez’s title win over Lyra Valkyria.
Giulia’s hard date for beginning with WWE NXT was said to be No Mercy, allowing her to finish off her Marigold dates, including her final date that was added in order for her to compete in a gauntlet match against the Marigold roster before she left for NXT.
The report notes that sources in NXT indicated the most likely landing spot for the discussed Giulia vs. Perez bout is the Chicago CW debut episode, but would not be surprised to see the former NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion wrestle on NXT prior to the matchup.
There is also little concern with Giulia changing up her style now that she is in WWE, with concerns of her working “too stiff” being waived off by several sources following her signing with the company in April.
When asked about how long Giulia is expected to stay in NXT, the report also notes she has signed a long term deal with the promotion and that her tenure is dependent on how fast she takes to the American television style.
Giulia is expected to be presented as one of NXT’s top stars as WWE make a home for themselves on The CW Network.
