A major WWE star was spotted backstage tonight at the UFC Apex for the NXT Battleground premium live event.
For a show that saw all titles that were on the line retained by their champions, there was a notable name backstage.
As reported by PWInsider, WWE star CM Punk was in attendance at the event.
Since his return to WWE in November 2023, Punk has been backstage at NXT shows on multiple occasions.
In the opening match, Kelani Jordan won the six-woman ladder match to become the first ever NXT Women’s North American Champion.
Nathan Frazer and Axiom then defeated the Good Brothers (Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows) to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Oba Femi retained his North American Championship in a triple threat match against Joe Coffey and Wes Lee, despite interferences from Gallus who appeared at ringside to help Coffey.
Roxanne Perez retained her NXT Women’s Championship over TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace in a match that also saw the NXT return of the former Dana Brooke, now known as TNA star Ash by Elegance.
In the main event, Trick Williams retained his NXT Championship over Ethan Page in Page’s first match in a WWE ring.
Also, Lola Vice defeated Shayna Baszler in the NXT Underground match.
