The July 10, 2024, episode of AEW Dynamite saw FTW Champion Chris Jericho taking on Samoa Joe in a Stampede Street Fight.

Highlights from the match can be seen below this news story, with Jericho going to extremes to retain his championship.
A cackling Jericho would secure his victory after Samoa Joe was loaded onto a forklift truck, driving through a temporary wall.
With Joe buried under a lot debris, a medical expert would stop the match with Jericho being declared the winner.
PW Insider has now revealed the reason why Samoa Joe has now been written off AEW television.

According to the report, Joe will be shooting the second season of Twisted Metal for Peacock with this being the ‘likely’ reason for what happened last night on AEW Dynamite.
Filming takes place in Toronto later this month and will see him reprise his role as Sweet Tooth.
The second season was greenlit in December 2023 with the first season having aired on Peacock in July of that year.

Twisted Metal sits on a Rotten Tomatoes score of 67% with an ‘Audience Score’ of 94%.
Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, the series follows John Doe (played by Anthony Mackie) as he travels across the US to delivery a package of mysterious contents, encountering dangerous marauders in even more deadly vehicles.
It is based on the Twisted Metal video game franchise from Sony Interactive Entertainment.
